RENT ASSISTANCE POLICY

 

St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) may assist qualifying households with a partial payment toward 1st month's rent or up to one month's rent to avoid eviction.  To qualify, you must be homeless or at-risk of homelessness.  We will assist with rent only once in a 24 month period.  We are unable to assist with security deposit payments.  The lease agreement must be in your name and you must have household income that is sufficient to pay your rent on an on-going basis.

 

Please bring the following verification with you to SVdP's Personal Service Center at the time of your request:


1st Month's Rent

 

  • Homeless Verification

(eviction notice from previous residence or other verification of homelessness)

 

  • Lease Agreement

(or some other verification of future tenancy, such as:  receipt from landlord, written rental agreement, etc.)

 

  • Receipt for Security Deposit Payment
  • Verification of Household Income
  • Picture ID
  • Birth Date Verification and Social Security Cards (if available) for All Household Members

Pending Eviction

 

  • Current Eviction Notice
  • Verification of Household Income
  • Picture ID
Birth Date Verification and Social Security Cards (if available) for All Household Members






Please note that, prior to providing rent assistance, SVdP will contact the City Assessor's Office in order to verify ownership of property.  Payments will only bemade to the person(s) listed as the property owner(s).
